Parenting a gender diverse child can feel especially challenging in today’s political climate, where headlines, legislation, and school policies often create confusion, fear, or frustration. Join Dr. Shawn V Giammattei Founder and CEO of the Gender Health Training Institute, and Transfamily Alliance, and Kyle Ang from Sam & Devorah Foundation for Trans Youth for Courageous Conversations — a 90-minute, supportive webinar designed to help parents navigate these turbulent times with compassion, clarity, and confidence.

Together, we’ll explore how to talk with your kid about what’s happening in the world, how to support their mental health and resilience, and how to strengthen your connection even when you don’t have all the answers. You’ll leave with practical communication tools, advocacy resources, and renewed hope for helping your child and your family thrive — at home, at school, and beyond.

What We’ll Explore Together

  • the unique challenges your trans and gender diverse youth are facing right now in today’s political climate – especially in school
  • how the current rhetoric and legislation can shape your child’s sense of safety, confidence, and identity
  • How to talk to your child about what’s happening in the world in developmentally appropriate ways
  • How to manage your own stress, find support, and stay grounded—allowing you to show up better for your child
  • meaningful ways to advocate for your child’s safety, inclusion, and dignity in school and in your community.
  • trusted resources, tools, organizations, and communities where you can stay connected and keep learning alongside other families.
