Jill Rees, PhD
I am a psychologist and parent coach with more than 20 years of experience supporting teens, adults, partners, and families. I help parents navigate questions about their child’s gender identity with greater clarity, connection, and confidence. I offer a warm, affirming space where you can slow down, feel supported, and take informed and thoughtful next steps.
I work with parents who want to better understand, support, and advocate for their child, while also supporting parents in better understanding their own gender journey especially in our current western cultural context. I care deeply about helping families stay connected as they move through new territory together. Coaching can be a place to sort through questions, strengthen communication, and move from fear or uncertainty toward steadiness, self-trust, and authentic connection. It is also a space to explore how to support your child at home, in school, and in the wider world with greater clarity and confidence.
My approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate, blending the depth of psychology with the forward-moving support of coaching. I draw from my experience as a senior therapist, parent, facilitator and sports coach to support families at all points along the gender journey. Together, we can focus on honest conversations, informed decision-making, and everyday tools that help your family feel more grounded, supported, and true to who you are. I can help you make sense of conflicting messages, understand the impact of stress and stigma, and navigate questions about social transition, medical options, and advocacy in ways that are thoughtful, evidence-informed, and aligned with your values.
You do not have to navigate this alone. I offer warm, practical, and affirming support to help your family move from confusion and isolation toward greater understanding, confidence, and care.
